Creating a "zine" that is creative and interesting first thing on a Monday morning isn't easy but my initial ideas above, are my way of trying to, first of all use up my holiday photos but also trying to create an alternative travel guide. The images above are by no means finished but i thought that they started to visualize my concept.

Making a zine has definitely been an interesting experience. Trying to make pre-existing photos interesting and creative in an expressive way was very taxing. I don’t normally introduce other elements to my images and so this was a way for me to experiment with composition and colouring.
To help with completing our zines we undertook a print workshop. This entailed using the letterpress and having a go at collagraph. I have previously worked on collagraph and so used the workshop time to experiment with the letterpress and its restrictions. This entailed using different fonts and sizes that would work with my zine pages. As the illustrations I have used are rather rough and unrefined, this gave me the opportunity to not worry about getting the perfect print. Still, I played with the layout of text using the magnets and led dividers to fully explore how this would help me in relation to figuring out how my pages would come together.
